Creative Commons Assignment

Developed in 2001, creative commons is a free, copyright license that provides a standardized way to give the public permission to share and use your work.  CC licenses let you easily change your copyright terms from the default of “all rights reserved” to “some rights reserved.”

Write a blog post that answers the following questions:

• Why did people feel the need to create creative commons?  What problem does it solve?
• For the 6 types of creative commons licenses described on the licenses page do the following:

1. Add the symbol for the license (try to find a picture on the internet and include it in your post)
2. In your own words, describe what the symbol means and why you would use it.

• What creative commons symbol should you add on your blog and why?
• Extra credit:  Add a creative commons symbol to your blog!
