Adding Tutorials To Your Blog Post Assignment

Maybe you and/or your students want to create some instructional videos/tutorials and then post them to the classroom blog for feedback.  This could be useful for alternate assessments, demonstrating proficiency of content, or collaborative learning.  Here are the steps:

Create a video tutorial
Upload it to youtube
Add the video to  the blog

To create a video tutorial, the easiest tool is screencastomatic. Try it by making a video tutorial and publishing it to youtube.

The topic of your video tutorial will be how to create a video tutorial using screencastomatic, publish it to your youtube account, post in on your blog, and any issues you faced.

Why create a video about how to do something that you must know how to do if you created the video to begin with?  When you look at this blog post a few months down the road, you might need the reminder :)

Create a blog post on your classroom blog that includes the following:
  • Your video/tutorial

Before you hit publish, do this:
  • Add the following labels to your post: assignment, tutorial, how to
  • Name your blog post:   Adding Tutorials To Your Blog Post Assignment
